Lucas Bastos Freire
Born in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas had his first contact with capoeira as a kid, around 7 years old.
After only training few months as a kid Lucas went back to training capoeira in 2004 with the group Capoeira Novo Horizonte, in his hometown, Macae. In this group he got his nickname "Catatau" from his master Dino.
In 2006 Lucas moved to Rio de Janeiro to study university and join the group Capoeira Brasil. In 2012 he got his instructor title and start helping his teacher on his classes.
Open his first class in Coolum Beach in 2015 and has been teaching capoeira around Australia since them.
2023 after been under Paulinho Sabia for over 10 years, Instructor Catatau decided to move to Ungu Capoeira under mestrando Perere for a close guidance on his capoeira path.
In 2024 got his Professor belt under the Ungu Capoeira after 20 years of dedication to the art.
